Merrill & Ring—Port Angeles, WA

Merrill & Ring was one of the four founding members of WFPA in 1908, and has enjoyed the continued relationship for 100 years. Having suffered from several large wildfires in the 1930’s Merrill & Ring initially benefited from improvements in fire protection and regulations. As early as the 1950’s WFPA helped Merrill & Ring control and manage extensive bear damage in young plantations. WFPA provided guidance and resources as Merrill & Ring established a public education program. More recently WFPA helped ensure equitable tax treatment for Merrill & Ring’s timber harvest. The Merrill & Ring owners and staff look forward to the next 100 years of participation in WFPA and the policy leadership that will keep us healthy and viable for future generations.
