Rayonier Inc.—Hoquiam, WA

Rayonier has recognized the value of belonging to the Washington Forest Protection Association since 1939, the year the company began investing seriously in Washington timberland. Responsible care for the region’s forests was as important to the company then as it is today. The benefits of membership in WFPA are many for Rayonier: a voice in policy decisions affecting the forest products industry, a role in widespread efforts to protect and maintain working forests, and the exchange of knowledge among peers as the company continues to invest in Washington’s forestry future.

One example of how Rayonier continues to invest in Washington’s forestry future is through wildlife research. Here, a Rayonier wildlife biologist monitors this young Northern Goshawk that just left his nest.
