With the public’s recognition that practicing forestry in Washington State encompasses their values for protecting the environment and must provide an economic return to the landowner, we believe that working forests will remain a preferred land use for all of the benefits forests provide, allowing us to grow trees sustainably well into the future.
Finally, it is expensive to practice forestry in Washington State. Now with the high level of environmental regulations and practices, we need to continually balance environmental protection with economic growth. This will allow us to grow trees here in the future that will provide benefits that are important to us all.
